Learn how to make this Y2K Digital Fashion Piece - Part 1

Style3d to Substance Painter to Cinema4D to After Effects, it's a whole workflow 🤯

Hi Fun Gs,

Welcome to part 1 of this 2 part series on Patreon, I will be showing you how I created this Y2K piece inspired by Blackpink's Lisa. She released a new music video called Rockstar and I just knew I had to create a look based upon what I saw in the mv.

In part 1 we go through the following:

  • Concepting and building a moodboard

  • Creating the outfit in Style3d

The digital fashion creation took a long time because I wanted to include a star theme which we utilised Adobe Illustrator to help us out. Also if you guys use Clo3d don't worry, this tutorial will also work. I like to alternate between Style3d and Clo3d, they are pretty similar.

Look out for part 2 next week where we will move onto:

  • Texturing in Substance Painter

  • Building the 3D scene, lighting, adding accessories and camera angles in C4D

  • Editing the video in After Effects

There's definitely a lot that goes into it but hopefully seeing the process will help you understand how we work through all these different programs.
